My cat likes to sleep on a perch but the scraggly old cat tree was taking up too much space and had to go — I replaced it with this.
The color combos of the canvas bed are not ideal. I went with the purple and green, of which the green is less a bright lime green and more of a soft olive (disappointingly, as I wanted lime green).
The assembly was easy — just look at the pictures. The wooden pieces are sturdy and don’t look cheap. Definitely utilize the foam pads for the part that touches the wall — I didn’t put them on at first and could hear it squeaking and scratching the wall when my cat would get on and off the perch.
My house has peculiar windows so this works perfectly with the window open or closed (but I would have to remove the perch to open or close the window) but this may not work well with all windows.
My cat took to it immediately and gets up there on his own. He likes the place to look outside and to take a nap in sunshine.
We have two Mini Schnauzers who love to stretch across the bed at night. One weighs 10 lbs and the other weighs 13 lbs. I figured I would give it a try since they’re not much bigger than a cat. They love them. We fold a blanket to lay on the “hammock” and they curl up and go right to sleep. We remove them during the day and hang at night. Easy assembly and sturdy enough for the dogs. Might give you some space in the bed back! Definitely worth a good nights sleep.
Luckily I ordered this before I even got my new kitten. As you all know, kittens can be just wild and out-of-control when they’re really young but this Perch gives her a place to chill out and I am so thankful for that! I’ve had neighbors and friends see it and they love it. I especially like the fact that it has the hooks that go in the window frame as opposed to the suction cups because I could never trust those fully and I would have to detach them every time I wanted to put my venetian blinds down. This bed is not wobbly at all. She jumps up on it and off of it and it has stayed positioned every time.
I love this perch for my cats, and I have two very large male American Shorthairs. I was concerned specifically for the heavier of the two who has broken more than a few toys but he’s in it and it supports all 16 pounds of him with ease. I will be getting another for the downstairs window, worth every penny.
It took them a hot minute to decide but I put one of my old sweatshirts on it for some cushion and a little catnip to entice them and now it’s their favorite place. It’s very sturdy too as my older and fatter cat lays on it with no issues. Worth paying a bit more than the suction cup ones. I have no fears of this falling down with them in it
this was super easy to put together! My cat has been sitting uncomfy on my tiny windowsill for the past few weeks so I thought I’d try this out. She is pretty timid so I wasn’t sure she was going to like it but she immediately got on and won’t leave! She is obsessed and so happy with it. I highly recommend! I am a little nervous that if she puts too much weight on the end while getting off she might tip it over just because I think the window is supposed to be closed but she likes the fresh air, but it’s holding pretty sturdy for now !
I bought the perch because I have one cat that dislikes the others which becomes an issue when they all try to crowd around the front window on the back of the couch. I thought that buying the perch would help to add additional window “real estate” and help prevent tiffs.
As soon as I assembled it, I added a cushy pad for comfort and a pee pad over the top as the angry cat has incontinence issues. Before I could even set it up, she found it and fell asleep in it. When she woke up, I set it up in the window, placed her in it, and she has been in there for hours now happily looking out the window or sleeping. I am really hoping she continues to use it daily. If so, I’ll likely get a second perch for another window.
The cranky cat is about 10lbs and fits well in it. You’ll want a bigger size if your cat is bigger.
My little cat took to it immediately. The old window perch I had didn’t work with my new windows but this one did. Easy to assemble. Perfect for lounging and neighborhood watch. My bigger cat didn’t want anything to do with it until I put a little plush mat on it and now my two cats fight over who gets to lay in it. I’ll be ordering a second one to prevent a cat war in my house.
